I have always oozed over how adorable her hand made creations are and a while back I decided I would like one for myself! I messaged Sara to purchase a case and to my super duper SUPER DELIGHT she wrote back the kindest message to me offering a trade! I was elated!

Anyway onto the review!

I told Sara what I was looking for, my favorite colors are mint and lilac & that I just HAD to have one of her iconic rainbow ice cream scoops, macaroon & some of those precious cookies!

Now, because Sara is hand making all these pieces by HAND herself you must bare in mind that there is patience involved with these cases (just like anyother shop, my own included) but the love and care she puts into these ice cream scoops and cookies is crazy, they look good enough to eat, REALLY. LIKE REALLY I WANNA EAT THEM UP!

When I received the case I was so pleased with how much love and care was clearly put into making it, I LOVE ME A CHUNKY KAWAII CASE y’all… and Sara really put it together w/ all the fixins! Her whippie is made with a silicone base so it is squishy (I can not for the life of me understand the desire for the hard drying whippie, it makes my hand feel clammy) and shiny, her ice cream scoops and cookies are a clay base which gives it such a real texture to it (again I wanna gobble them up) and have a really nice contrast to the whippie’s shine!

My case also has lots of deco sauce on it, different shops use different materials for this & she uses one that dries kinda soft & has a metallic sheen to it so it really POPS over the matte texture of the clay or sides of the case, supa kawaii!

All in all very happy with my purchase, I will be very careful with this cutie as I don’t wanna harm any of the gorgeous clay work Sara put into it. That rainbow ice cream scoop is like a prize in my eyes, I have wanted one for so long and now I have it forever and ever!!! Thank you so much Sara!!!

Hello, I was wondering if you've ever seen clear icing that is tinted to look a particular color according to the phone case. Do you have any idea if this is done with clear caulked icing onto a colored surface? Or is there a particular way to tint the fake frsoting?

I have! In fact, I sometimes use this myself!

It could certainly be done with just plain clear silicone on a colored case, but I think it’s much more common for the silicone itself to be tinted. You can tint silicone with a little bit of acrylic paint.

What brand on glaze do you use? <3 the one I use doesn't dry all the way and leaves my clay sticky :c

I use Sculpey brand glaze, but I’ve used Martha Stewart High Gloss Acrylic Glaze before too, and it worked just fine. I think any acrylic one should work. Just avoid aerosols!

your brrand of decoden looks really nice! and i know what brand it is and all the details but i was wondering do you have to use one of the pump guns or whatever since its a catridge and you can't just squeeze it out of the tub? or is there another way?

I’m not exactly sure what you mean? Typically what I do is I use a caulking gun to put silicone into a piping bag, and then I use it the same way that I would decorate a cake. I also know people who just put an icing tip at the end of the caulk tube and use it straight out of the caulking gun.

The silicone I use also comes in smaller plastic tubes that you could just put a tip on, but it tends to be more expensive to use those in the long run. If you’re only planning on making a case or two though, it’s a good alternative.

I use plastic tips, and I don’t know what brand they are unfortunately. They came with a cupcake kit that my friend bought me for my birthday ages ago, haha!
